1. Introduction

This manual will guide you through the steps to install XMP presets in Lightroom, import and apply these presets to images, create presets from a DNG image, and import DNG files to Lightroom for Android and iOS.

2. Installing XMP Presets in Lightroom

  • Start by opening Adobe Lightroom.
  • Go to the ‘Develop’ module by clicking on ‘Develop’ at the top right corner of the application.
  • On the left panel, you will find the ‘Presets’ section. Click the ‘+’ icon and select ‘Import Presets…’
  • Navigate to the folder where your XMP files are stored, select them, and click ‘Import.’
  • Your imported presets will now appear in the ‘Presets’ panel under a new folder.

3. Installing XMP Presets in Lightroom CC

  • Open Adobe Lightroom CC on your computer.
  • Navigate to the 'Presets' panel located on the right side of the interface.
  • Right-click on the 'User Presets' folder and choose 'Import Presets' from the context menu.
  • Browse to the folder where your XMP preset files are stored.
  • Select all the XMP files you want to install and click 'Import.'
  • Lightroom CC will import the presets, and they will appear in the 'User Presets' folder in the 'Presets' panel.

Note: In Lightroom CC, XMP presets are automatically synced with your Creative Cloud account and available across your devices if syncing is enabled.

You can now apply the imported presets to your photos by selecting an image and choosing the desired preset from the 'Presets' panel.

4. Importing DNG to Lightroom

  • Import your DNG files into Lightroom.
  • Select the DNG file in the ‘Develop’ module.
  • In the ‘Develop’ panel, adjust the settings to achieve the look you want.
  • Once satisfied, click the ‘+’ icon in the ‘Presets’ section and select ‘Create Preset.’
  • Name your new preset and select the settings you want to include in the preset.
  • Click ‘Create.’ The new preset is now available in the ‘Presets’ section.

5. Importing DNG to Lightroom for Android

  • Open Lightroom on your Android device.
  • Tap on the ‘+’ icon at the bottom right to add a photo and select 'From Files.'
  • Navigate to the DNG file you want to import and select it.
  • Once imported, tap on the three-dot icon at the top right and select 'Create Preset.'
  • Name the preset and save it.

6. Importing DNG to Lightroom for iOS

  • Open Lightroom on your iOS device.
  • Tap the ‘+’ sign in the bottom right corner.
  • Navigate to your DNG file and import it.
  • Once imported, select the three-dot icon on the top right and select 'Create Preset.'
  • Name your preset and save it.
